Artistic value
The title refers to the famous medieval treatise “Shams al-Maʿārif” (The Sun of Knowledge), associated with the science of letters. Concentric red, orange and blue circles on an acid-green background radiate like a sun around a core of black script. The work transposes the symbolic, almost mystical dimension of the Arabic letter into a vivid, contemporary palette.
